Our world improves every day. People invent new things that save us every moment. Just imagine your life without mobile phones, microwaves, coffee machines and many other things.

I would like to speak about computers and all possibilities this thing gave us.

First of all, people are able to communicate with no problems through skype, messengers and emails. We can pass the messages immediately from Russia to America, from Australia to Africa just in few seconds. It is very convenient and useful.

Another good thing is internet. Today internet is one encyclopedia that has all kind of information about everything and everybody. In few seconds you can find population of any country, favorite song and a book in Chinese. We use internet and don’t even think how useful it is.

Computer helps many pupils and students to prepare homework, diplomas and final reports. I use it everyday to be sure that I am ready for a lesson.

Another good thing is computer entertains us. Music, games, films and things like this help us with pastime. If you use it smart, you can relax, but sometime it is more disadvantage.

Computer takes a lot of time. We watch movies non-stop, play computer games and often we have dependence. Children and adults are crazy about it. As well as social networks that take a lot of our time.

Still I guess any person can use it smart with no addiction. In this situation I see only advantages.

Как и всегда, сочинения в английском языке состоят из трех частей: вступление, основная часть (может быть разделена на несколько параграфов) и заключение. Однако, их содержание должно быть разным в зависимости от темы.

Говоря о компьютерах, начать сочинение можно оригинально, упомянув, что эта тема стала актуальна совсем недавно, но уже успела стать одной из важнейших. Польза компьютера в жизни человека

Ведь никто не покупает себе компьютер просто так: «У соседа есть, пусть и у меня тоже будет!» Каждый хочет как-то использовать купленный компьютер. Ведь это не просто предмет современного быта. Это мощный и многофункциональный инструмент. Зачем он человеку ?

• Поиск информации. Не выходя из дома, вы можете зайти в интернет и получить ответ на любой вопрос за несколько секунд или сделать покупку. Это очень быстро и удобно.
• Общение.
  Бумажные письма уже никто не пишет. Вы можете общаться с друзьями и родственниками по Skype или в социальной сети «Одноклассники» или «Вконтакте». При нынешнем образе жизни мобильный телефон и компьютер являются популярными средствами общения.

• Работа. Сейчас можно работать не выходя из дома. Вы можете для себя выбрать интернет-профессию и сотрудничать хоть со всем миром.
• Развлечения. Компьютерные игры, просмотр фильмов, прослушивание музыки. Все это можно найти в сети интернет.
• Обучение. Дистанционное обучение открывает перед человеком громадные возможности в получении новых знаний.

Topic INTERNET in our life. Устная тема INTERNET.

For centuries people had been living without any great inventions. We can compare the everyday people’s life of the 11th and the 13th centuries and we’ll see it was very similar. But can we say the same about the 19th and the 21st centuries? Certainly, not. Nowadays science and technology are developing so fast that sometimes you can’t «chase» the progress.

In the 30’s the radio was one of the most popular means of spending your leisure time. Then television was invented and the radio became less popular. Today TV has changed a lot since its invention and it’s still popular but it has a serious competitor. It is the Internet. I can’t say exactly what is more popular today – television or the Net. But in my opinion, TV will vanish in 10—20 years and the Internet or even something more modern will become the main source of information and entertainment.

The internet or TV?

Both the Internet and television are the forms of Mass Media that’s why they have some similar features. First of all, they keep people informed. It means that we can get to know about the latest world news due to them, find educational information, articles connected with your hobbies and the like. Secondly, both television and the Net gather big audiences so people can find new topics to discuss. Moreover, it gives a wonderful opportunity to communicate with other people. Certainly, it’s not a direct communication and the Internet and TV can’t change real friends but they just give extra-chances to active people.

TV and the Net are similar in the way they give us information. TV-sets and computers have colorful screens and special sound appliances. Here I’d like to say that one of their disadvantages is a bad influence on health because users are glued to these screens. So we can say the way of giving us information isn’t very convenient and healthy.

However TV and the Web differ very much. The main advantage of the Internet which I appreciate very much is that you don’t depend on somebody or something. There’s no schedule! You just start up your computer and begin surfing the Internet looking for whatever you want. I consider that if you want to know the latest news it’s better to log on the Net. There you’ll choose the topic and read or watch not one but lots of articles on it. Isn’t it comfortable? And you’re not told about crimes, crashes, violence every time (compare with TV news!).

On the Internet you can find not only small news items but big articles on different subjects and even books. To my mind, articles are very useful: they play a big educational role. What about virtual books? Well, I’d rather read paper books. For me reading good books associates with pleasant moments, such as sitting in the armchair, drinking tea and dreaming. Can reading from the screen be so nice? I think, no. Besides, it causes heavy eyestrain and backache.

Nowadays people search for different sorts of music, videos, films in the Web. So do I.

I prefer the Internet to TV because I can find there my favorite music whenever I want. Fortunately, the Internet in our country is quite good, the speed is fast and it’s possible to watch, for instance, a long film there.

Advantages and disadvantages of the Internet.

As anything, the Web has two sides: bad and good. We’ve already talked about a good side. What about its disadvantages? The main problem connected with the Internet is net obsession. It can be compared with TV addiction but I think Internet addiction is more widespread and more destructive. Either adults or children can’t live without the Web. They lose interest in their hobbies, spend their free time in front of the screen. Then they forget about their friends. People destroy their health (some cases were very hazardous: problems were much more serious than bad eyesight). When these people get fired they lose the link between the real and the virtual world. Unfortunately, some people become insane.

Nowadays the Internet addiction is one of the most principal problems. And it’s hard to solve it because the life without Internet is really impossible today.

There are other disadvantages of the Net: a big hourly or monthly fee, diverse computer viruses and harmful programs, which can rob you.

I am a frequent Internet user but I’m not addicted to it. I log on the Web about two times a week. First of all I check my e-mail (I have some pen pals), then I go to my favorite sites (various forums, music sites, sites with diaries). From time to time, I search for articles on school topics. And, finally, sometimes I read news and download music.

Taking everything in account, I’d like to say that every invention usually has its lovers and enemies. We can blame the Web a lot, discuss it every time, but still log on to read the weather forecast or to send a letter to Australia by e-mail. And no one can deny the great role of it. So, if people control themselves everything will be OK.

The role of the computer in our lives is currently growing from day to day. It can be explained by the fact that computers help people to do their work much more easily and quickly. Computers can be characterised, as very comfortable, reliable and accurate. The biggest advantage is the price of computers, they are quite cheap. They give people very quick and quality information, so in such a way people don’t have to spend their time, turning leaves of dozens of books. Computers are easy to use, so you don’t have to be a genius to be able to work on it. And even if it is hard for you to learn it, you can buy some videos and books that will help you to do it.

In today’s world, computers are used nearly in all branches of industry. Even in that one that are dangerous and harmful to human health. Scientists can’t imagine space research without using computers. Today computers can diagnose very severe illnesses and help to carry out operations.

Using a computer you can search something on the internet. It has many advantages. You can exchange information electronically. The Internet users can enjoy online media and they can help other people to solve their problems. It expands our knowledge and stimulates our curiosity. Using the internet, you can meet different and interesting people. The internet also informs us about new trends. It provides us the possibility to talk with our friends online. The Internet helps us to use less television and watch only those films, which we want.

The computers have some disadvantages. Computer viruses are very dangerous. Such computer viruses can delete all files that are in your computer.

But in my opinion, computers are very useful and necessary in our lives. Despite some disadvantages, I think that a computer is the very important machine. I am sure that the computers have a great influence on our lives.
